Each room or apartment type must have at least one rate plan linked to it. You can create as many as you want, manage them all from Octorate, and also display them on your direct website.
There are two typical scenarios: you want to sell the same rates on the portals (OTAs) as well, or you want to use them only for direct bookings. The process changes slightly, so let's look at them separately.
Case 1 โ You want the same rates on Booking, Airbnb, etc. as well
Example: standard rate + non-refundable rate, also present on the OTAs, to be mapped with Octorate.
Create the derived rates. These are used to link your rates to the portal mapping. (Guide: how to create a derived rate)
Link a rate plan to your derived rates: Octorate accounts already start with some default rate plans created; during the creation of your derived rates, you'll be able to select the type of rate plan/meal plan you want to apply:
If you want to create other rate plans in addition to the default ones,
Go to Rooms/Apartments โ Other actions โ Rate Plans โ Create New +.
ย
ย
Fill in the basic details: plan name and meal plan (room only, breakfast included, etc.).
ย
Link the rooms to the rate plan, in the column on the right.
๐บ ATTENTION!
If you have configured your derived rooms as described in the example, the price difference will need to be set in your derived rate scheme.
ย
We therefore advise you not to fill in the price correction field also in the Rate plan section:
Case 2 โ You want multiple rate plans only on Octorate (not on the OTAs)
In this case, you don't need derived rates. A single room type with a base price is enough (e.g. "double room").
You'll be able to associate multiple rate plans with this same room type. So if you wanted to have a standard rate and a non-refundable rate, you would need to configure them like this:
Standard rate:
Not refundable rate:
it will be associated with the same room but in this case you will also have to enter the price correction you wish to apply
What you can add to rate plans (in both cases)
Payment policies: to automatically charge the customer's card (an active payment gateway is required). Payment policies guide.
Cancellation policies: these apply only to direct bookings โ they must be configured separately on each OTA if you want them to apply there as well. Cancellation policies guide.
These will be displayed on your booking engine as you can see in the image below ๐
ย
๐บ ATTENTION!
The cancellation policies configured in Octorate will only be valid for your direct bookings, you will still have to configure them in the various OTAs in order to also have them active for bookings coming from the portals.
Collection policies will allow you to charge your guests' credit cards automatically if you have a payment gateway.
Custom text: from Text you can edit the Label, Title and Description that the customer sees on the booking engine at the time of booking. Custom text guide.
Packages: You can link extra services to a rate plan by creating a package.
