Derivation Rules

For each room, you can create different derived rates:
based on occupancy 🚻, cancellation policy (Refundable or Non-Refundable) πŸ’΅, breakfast included 🍩, etc.

But how do you link these rates together?
And how do you edit the derivation rules? πŸ˜…

Where to find derived rates

Go to:
Rooms/Apartments > Show > Other actions > Manage derived rates

Here you’ll see the map of Rooms and Rates active in your property πŸ‘‡

How to edit a derived rate

Double-click on one of the boxes to open its details.
You can then view and edit the derivation rules, meaning the settings that link the main rate to its derived rate.

1️⃣ Top section: rate information

You will find, for example:

  • Number of guests (e.g. rate for 2 Guests)

  • Rate Plan associated with the selected rate

2️⃣ Bottom section: derivation rules

Here you decide how the derived rate behaves compared to the main rate.

  • Based on
    Indicates the main rate the derived rate refers to.
    Example: Garden – Double Room standard.

  • Price
    Defines how much more or less the derived rate costs compared to the main one.
    Example: –10% compared to the standard.

  • Availability
    If you receive a booking on the main rate, should the derived rate update its availability automatically?

  • Length of Stay
    Should the derived rate follow the same minimum stay rules as the main rate?

  • Restrictions
    Should it follow the same check-in/check-out restrictions?
    βœ”οΈ Tick the box.

  • Close Sales
    If you apply a Stop Sale on the main rate, should it also apply to the derived rate?

Summary of derivation rules

At the bottom, you'll find a summary of the settings applied, such as:

  • –10% compared to the standard rate

  • Rates linked for:
    A > Availability
    M > Minimum Stay
    R > Restrictions
