Do you offer any extra services that customers could add to their stay?
Let’s find out how to register them in Octorate!
Access the Settings > Extras section and click on “Create a new extra” in the top right corner.
On the next page, start configuring your extra service:
Enter a name for your extra
If needed, you can assign it to a category
Decide whether to make it visible in your booking engine and/or your Octosite
Choose whether to display your extras in the booking engine with an expanded or compact view
Set the extra as mandatory, if necessary
Decide if the extra is refundable
Show in rate plans: Enable this option if you want to add this extra to a rate plan to create a package
Show in PMS
Set the price:
Choose the pricing method for the extra: per person, per reservation, etc.
🔺 N.B. by selecting Per Day or Per person per day,
you can set up the Inventory of that service. For further info, click here!
Enter the price
Enter the VAT you want to apply to this extra; if VAT is 0, you can also set the type of exemption and the legal reference
Set a unit of measure
Rooms
Set a room filter if you want to apply this extra only to certain room types
Description
Enter a description for your extra service and/or a name, if you want a different name to appear in your booking engine.
⚠️ ATTENTION: Mandatory extras will not be added automatically if you enter a manual reservation directly from the calendar. If you also want them to be calculated for your manual bookings, you will need to enter it from bookings > add new.
The only exception is for cleaning fees: if the cleaning fee is correctly linked to the category, then it will be added automatically if set as mandatory.
If you want to include your extra services in a special offer, you will need to insert the created extra into the rate plan and then create a package.
