Need to set up a security deposit for your bookings?
First, you'll need to configure an Extra with the deposit amount. You'll need to create a category to link to this extra with the specific type "Security Deposit."
To create a new category, go to settings > extras/consumptions > categories:
After correctly setting up the deposit extra, you can proceed to configure an automatic collection from settings > takings and terms of sale.
Configure the automatic collection by defining the amounts to charge and when, you can specifically select the Deposit option as shown in the screen below 👇
In the collection configuration, you can set days for automatic refund:
In the Save Payoff section of the booking detail, a dedicated line to record the collection will be generated and the refund will take place automatically after the check-out, following the timing set by you.
❌ What if you do not intend to reimburse the amount due to any damage to the property?
Just click on the green button [Keep], always from the Save Payoff section, to block the reimbursement of the property.
⚠️ As pointed out in the article dedicated to Scheduled Takings, the rules only work if there is a Payment Gateway associated with the account. If not, there would be no way for Octorate to interrogate a system capable of charging a customer's credit card!
