Stop Sale or percentage availability per period

Do you want to close or change the percentage of units available on certain portals only for specific periods? Let's see how to do it together!

Access the Channel Manager section, click on the button with the pencil against the portal of your interest and locate the Availability section

The first part allows you to set a percentage availability with no time limits.

To use the availability for period, instead, click on the [+] button

Enter the start and end dates for this new availability setting.

You can decide whether to set a percentage value or whether to activate the stop sale, by clicking on the calendar icon and thus automatically bringing the availability to 0%.

You can set more than one rule!
Just click on the [+] and set a new period with its relative percentage.

ATTENTION - Do not forget to activate the Activate synchronization now item before saving at the bottom of the page

REMEMBER - we always refer to the quantity relating to a specific type of room, not to the availability entered in the calendar.

Example: I have the "Double room" room type with 30 quantities, I decide to set 50% availability for Booking.com. This means that Booking will be able to sell a maximum of 15 rooms for that type.

Here are the situations that may occur:

- If the availability on your calendar is 30, Booking will show 15.

- If the availability set on your calendar is 14, Booking will show 14 availabilities since the value is less than/equal to 50% of the total.

- If in the meantime you have received 2 reservations from Booking, the portal will show an availability of 13, taking into account the reservations already made.

Availability update ⚖️

Remember that the tool aims to ensure a specific percentage of rooms to a given portal.
Consequently, the number of rooms for sale on that specific portal will only be updated if there are reservations coming from that portal.

Example:
I have 15 rooms in my hotel and on Booking.com I decide to put 50% availability (= 7)
A reservation from Expedia comes in, on my Octorate calendar the availability drops to 14, on Booking.com it is still 7.
A reservation from the Booking Engine comes in, the availability on the calendar drops to 13, on Booking.com it is still 7.
Finally, a reservation from Booking.com comes in, availability on the calendar drops to 12, while on Booking.com it drops to 6.

What if you decide to open a lower number of units to sell on the calendar, like passing from 12 to 4? Obviously, the available units on the portal, in this case Booking.com, would also be automatically reduced to 4.
