Our new Octosite is available from today, an updated version with new SEO friendly templates that can help you improve your positioning in the main search engines.
If you have a property or a group of properties, you can configure your site directly in Octorate to start receiving your direct bookings.
In the Marketing > Octosite section, you can choose the theme you prefer and start customizing your layout.
We have created specific themes for vacation rentals and others specific for hotels.
To preview the themes and choose the one you like best, just click on site preview:
The site preview will open and you will be able to see how it appears in the different versions:
Desktop, mobile and tablet.
In the settings section you can configure your domain.
If you have not purchased a custom domain you can select the item "I have not purchased a site name (domain) " and enter the domain name to use:
If you have purchased a custom domain, you will have to select the item "I use a custom domain" and follow the instructions to update your DNS.
In your domain provider you will have to set up:
CNAME record with Host www and pointing to s.eu-multiscreensite.com
First A record with Host/Alias '@' and Target/Destination '52.59. 120.70'
Another A record with Host/Alias '@' and Target/Destination '18.197. 248.23'
To verify that the values are correctly entered you can use this free service: https://www.nslookup.io/
If, when entering your site name, you see the message "record not found", it means that the values have not been configured correctly:
In case you encounter difficulties entering these values in your domain management interface, we invite you to send a message to your domain manager sending them the 3 instruction lines mentioned above.
If you read an IP address, it means everything is ok, if you can't see your octosite correctly we ask you to communicate this to us via chat to allow us to perform the necessary verifications.
If you haven't purchased a custom domain, you can select the option "I haven't purchased a site name (domain)" and you can choose one as you like.
ATTENTION: If you decide not to use a custom domain, there cannot be any dots in the site name, for example it's not possible to have a domain like "octorate.site" but it will be necessary to set the domain with the name "octratesite".
In the Texts section you can instead configure your custom texts, you will be able to see in the theme previews where your texts are displayed.
The contents entered in the detail of your octorate account will be shown in the octosite.
The photos will be taken from the booking engine > property images section
For vacation rentals
If you have multiple apartments in different cities or localities these will be visible on the homepage of your octosite in this way:
The cities or locations in this list will be taken from the settings > properties section
The first populated field in this section will be shown, so if the locality is entered, that will be shown, as in the example where we see the locality Piazza di Spagna.
For hotels
The list of room types of your property will be shown with the photos and information entered in the rooms section of your Octorate account.
In both cases
After making the changes, you can click on save and open site to see the preview:
If you need to make custom changes to the Octosite theme you have chosen, you can contact your sales representative and purchase the package for the advanced editor and modify your Octosite also with the help of your web master.
You will always have the option to restore the original model by clicking on Reset site.
ATTENTION: the SAVE button publishes your site online.
