How to manage the occupancy levels of the Booking.com rates

In this guide we’ll walk you through how to properly set up your Booking.com rate on the extranet of the portal.

Remember that you can map out and manage the rates of a portal only if they’re converted into XML.

If you don’t know what an xml rate is, please click here to read the dedicated article

If you want to set up a different price depending on the occupancy level, you have three options:

  1. Set your Booking.com account to OBP (Occupancy Based Pricing)

  2. Create new Rate Plans as independent rate plans that can be imported and mapped out on Octorate

  3. Set price differences for each occupancy level, while keeping your setup as per-day

You can set the price differences directly in the Booking.com extranet

Or you can push them directly from Octorate by following the steps outlined in this article.

Keep in mind that if you choose the OBP option you won’t be able to use the stop sale function for a specific occupancy level.

FOR INSTANCE, if you have a quadruple room and you don’t want to sell the single and double use for a specific time period, you can’t. The portal won’t get the stop sale that you set to these occupancy levels.

If you’re interested in setting up your Booking.com account to OBP, please contact us.

Otherwise, create independent rate plans on the portal that can be imported and mapped out on Octorate so as to manage the occupancy level rates dynamically. Then, contact us in order to complete the mapping and the synchronization.
