Would you like to manage rates for all occupancy levels on Octorate?
Let’s see how to do it together! 🔍
First, go to Rooms/Apartments > Show > Other actions > Manage rates.
Let’s assume your base rate is for 2 guests, but you want to manage all occupancy levels up to a maximum of 4 guests.
Starting from the base rate, click on the red + button:
A new window will appear:
Enter all the necessary information:
New Rate: delete the default 'Derived' label and enter a custom name for your occupancy-based rate.
e.g. If you want to create a single-use rate, you can name it ‘Green Room 1 pax’
Guests: choose the number of guests.
In this case, delete “2” and enter “1”.
Select the rate plans you want to apply.
Price difference: set a price rule.
The broken chain icon unlinks the two rates, allowing you to set the price directly from the calendar for the derived rate.
The arrow icon lets you apply a fixed value.
The percentage symbol (%) allows you to set a percentage-based value.
Select the arrow symbol and leave the box at 0 to have the derived rate match the base rate price.
Choose other derivation rules such as Availability, Length of stay, Restrictions, and Stop sale.
If these options are ticked, the derived rate will automatically inherit the settings from the base rate.
Example: If you set a minimum stay of 2 nights on the base rate, and you have also derived the “Length of stay” parameter, the derived rate will automatically require a minimum stay of 2 nights, just like the base rate.
Once done, you will see the newly created derived rate appear in grey:
Repeat this process for all the occupancy levels you want to create.

⚠️ Note: If you don’t create all the occupancy levels, they will not be bookable through the Booking Engine, unless you enable the option Show also greater occupancy in the Booking Engine EVO General Setup.
