If you are already subscribed to Zapier 💥 and have a Gmail account, this tutorial will help you automate the creation of events on your Gmail calendar for every new booking you receive on Octorate - Let's get started! 👌
If you haven't done it yet, log into Zapier and sign up first.
1- Create your first workflow
by selecting the apps to connect: in our case, Octorate with GoogleCal.
2- Choose the trigger event
meaning the event that will trigger the automatic action: for each New Booking of Octorate> Create an event on Google Cal
⚠️ WARNING- the system may ask you to choose the account and log in
3- Customize the event
for example by entering the details to be displayed in the event label and its description. You can both write texts and select variables.
and again, the start and end date of the event (which coincide with check-in and check-out)
potential reminders for the event, colours, repetition of the event, ect. and click on 👇
4- Test your Zap
by clicking on the dedicated button
the system will search for a reservation in your account, you will probably be requested to select the specific calendar on which to create the event, and you will see a sum up of the details.
If everything is correct, click on 👇
If the test was successful, you will receive a confirmation message 👇
Check out your Gmail Calendar, you should see the event created according to the rules you set up.
5- Activate your Zap
At this point, if there are no errors, activate your Zap from here 👇
or by clicking on [Turn on Zap]
In this way, events will automatically be created for each new booking.
