If your property was created before the Rate Plans update, from the Rooms / Apartments > Edit section in correspondence of the rate of your interest, you will have the possibility to deactivate the section where you can potentially associate one or more Rate Plans to the detail of the room

At that stage, you will see the Old Rate Plan Management section:

a. Breakfast included

Set up the entry to specify whether breakfast is included or not.

b. you can mark the rate as Not Refundable

by simply setting the dedicated entry on ON.

At this stage, you will not be able to select a rate plan.
However, you can still select an Automatic Taking rule and/or a Cancellation Policy.

c. you can associate an Automatic Taking rule to the rate

d. you can associate a Cancellation Policy to the rate in question

For these two last possibilities, you will not be able to select neither a Rate Plan nor the Not Refundable entries.

Automatic Taking Rule and Cancellation Policy can both be active, even if it is not mandatory.
In our example, as you can see from the picture, we did not select any automatic taking rules, since we want to let the customer pay on the spot.
However, in case they cancel after 15 days prior the check-in, we will charge the 50% of the total amount of the reservation, according to the Cancellation Policy setup.

⚠️ REMEMBER the charge of the amount in the case of a cancellation will be automatic, only in case you have a Payment Gateway set up in the Settings > Automatic Takings section.

❗❗❗ If you don't see this option, it's probably because your property is relatively new. In this case, you will need to use the creation of the Rate Plans to set the rate as Not Refundable and associate Automatic Collection Rules and Custom Cancellation Policies.

The NEW Rate Plans System works this way:

First of all, you create the new rate plan:

From the Rooms / Apartments section, click on Rate Plans

Click on [Add New +] and create your rate plan by choosing a name and the typology among the existing ones.

Decide whether to display the daily rate on the Booking Engine concerning this rate plan, by setting the entry on ON. Leave it OFF, if you wish to display the total price.

If the rate plan is valid on specific periods only, click on the [+] to select specific dates.

You have a rate plan, which is valid on alternate periods during the year, don't you?
Example: September 1-15 and then November 3-18
No problem, you can just add all the range of dates.
You just have to click various times on the [+] button to register all the periods of your interest.

Assign respectively an Automatic Taking rule and/or a Cancellation Policy to the Rate Plan (click on the hyperlink to get to know how to create automatic takings and cancellation policies)

On the right side, the Price section will give you the chance to set up a supplement that can be applied onto the associated rate plan.

You can use it to create packages and rates that include specific services.

Example: I am creating the half Board rate, which costs 15 euros per person per each day, to be added to the total of the reservation.

I will then select the Per person per day increase/decrease entry, from the drop-down menu and 15 in the value box👇

It is a valid (and much quicker) alternative to the derived rates, to be used on your Booking Engine!

⚠️ WARNING: you cannot avoid derived rates when they're linked to any external OTAs. The rate plan management is exclusively linked to the Booking Engine.

In the Texts section, you will find the Label, Title and Description entries, those that will be displayed online on the Booking Engine.
